Keyfree Locks – Latest Technology at Essex Trade Windows
At Essex Trade Windows we are delighted to be able to offer our customers an extensive range of front and back doors, now with keyfree locks.
Keyfree locks are the state of things to come. In the 21st century it is difficult to imagine buying a car without keyless entry. Nobody would dream of buying a television without a remote control. The only real surprise is that it has taken so long for keyfree locks to become widely available for use in the home.
Keyfree locks from Yale are a triple entry system.
- Keyfobs. Keyfobs are the handsfree way to unlock your door. Using similar technology to car locks, Yale keyfree locks come complete with key fobs. Simply press the fob within 10 metres of the door and it will unlock automatically.
- Keypads. For even greater convenience, Yale keyfree doorlocks can be opened using a keypad. Keypads work using a 4-to-12 digit easily reprogrammable code. Keypads do away with the need to always carry keys (or a key fob). So whether you are nipping to the shops or going on holiday, there is no need to worry about losing your house keys. A keypad means you can share the code with trusted visitors – ideal for people who find it difficult to answer the door.
- Keys. For those of an anxious disposition Yale have fitted a conventional override key option.
Keyfree Security in Essex
Keyfree locks are supplied by Yale: possibly the most trusted name in home security.
Keyfree locks have achieved the ‘Secure by Design’ award, a home security initiative by the Association
of Chief Police Officers. Yale keyfree locks also meet the requirements of the National House Building Council (NHBC) Warranty Scheme.
Keyfree locks have been designed to work in conjunction with multipoint lock & latch doors. 5 point lock & latch systems are fitted as standard on all Essex Trade Window UPVC and Composite doors. Keyfree locks can be used on front doors and back doors.
A deliberate design feature of keyfree locks is that they can be opened from the inside without a key, code or fob. This makes it easier for residents and visitors to be able to leave the house quickly in the event of fire.
Yale keyfree locks have a programmable optional alarm that can sound when someone opens the door from the inside. This is a useful option for homes with young children.
Yale Keyfree locks are powered by (easily replaceable) batteries so they will still work during power outages. A warning light gives ample warning when it is time to change the battery.
Reprogramming the entry code on a keyfree lock is simple. Keyfree locks also have the additional security feature that allows the correct code to be entered at the beginning or end of inputting if you are worried that someone is watching you enter the code.
Keyfobs are programmed to individual keyfree locks and will not work with any other lock. If a keyfob is lost it can easily be replaced. The new keyfob is reprogrammed to the hardwired security system in the keyfree lock.
Further information is available on request. A full guide to using your keyfree lock is included with every door.
